My felt seal came loose but is still intact. Can I just re-glue it instead of replacing it?

Yes — if the felt is still in good condition (no tears, no thinning, no missing sections), you can reattach it with a high-temperature appliance adhesive. Clean both the drum rim and the back of the felt with rubbing alcohol first, apply a thin even bead of adhesive, press firmly, and allow 24 hours to cure fully before using the dryer.
Does this felt seal fit both the front AND rear drum rim on Samsung dryers?

If noise persists after a felt seal replacement, the most likely culprits are worn drum support rollers (DC97-16782A) or a faulty idler pulley. Also check that no excess adhesive dripped onto the drum surface during installation, as hardened glue spots can cause thumping. Run your hand along the inside drum surface with the dryer unplugged to feel for any raised spots.
