The ERR117 / 330031 receptacle kit is compatible with the vast majority of Whirlpool-manufactured plug-in coil burner ranges, including models sold under the Whirlpool, Kenmore, Maytag, Roper, Amana, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Admiral, and Estate brand names. It does NOT fit most GE ranges or older Frigidaire/Westinghouse models. How many receptacle kits do I need to replace all four burners?

Each ERR117 kit replaces the receptacle for one surface burner. A standard four-burner electric range has four individual receptacle blocks, so you would need four kits for a full replacement. We recommend inspecting all receptacles when replacing one — if corrosion or burn marks are present on multiple sockets, replacing all four at the same time saves labor and prevents future failures.
My burner sometimes heats and sometimes doesn't — is the receptacle definitely the problem?

Intermittent heating is one of the most common symptoms of a failing burner receptacle. Pull the coil element straight out and inspect both the element prongs and the receptacle terminals. If you see pitting, corrosion, carbon deposits, or discoloration on either part, the receptacle (and possibly the element) needs replacement. We also recommend testing the element in a known-good receptacle on another burner to rule out a faulty element before ordering.
