The bake element has burned out and produces no heat during Bake cycles, leaving food completely uncooked.
Food bakes unevenly — burnt on top or edges while remaining undercooked on the bottom due to a failing lower element.
Oven takes excessively long to reach the set temperature or never fully preheats because the bake element is partially or fully failed.
The bake element does not glow red when the oven is set to Bake, indicating the element has an open circuit and must be replaced.
Blistering, burn holes, cracks, or bulging are visible on the element surface — a clear sign of heat failure requiring immediate replacement.
💡 Pro Tip: Is Your Bake Element the Problem?
Your part is likely the culprit if you notice any of the following:
⚠️ Oven does not heat up at all during Bake cycles
⚠️ Element fails to glow red when oven is turned on
⚠️ Uneven baking — food burns on top but stays raw on the bottom
⚠️ Visible damage: blistering, burn holes, cracks, or bulging on the element surface
🔍 Diagnostic tip: Use a multimeter set to continuity/resistance mode and probe the two terminals. A healthy element reads approximately 19–22 ohms (3000W ÷ 240V² ≈ 19.2Ω). An open reading (OL/infinite resistance) confirms the element has burned out and needs replacement. Also inspect the element receptacle terminals — if they appear burnt or pitted, replace them at the same time to ensure a reliable connection.
