Upper agitator fails to move or oscillate during the wash cycle while the drum still spins during spin. Worn agitator dogs no longer grip the cam, preventing the upper agitator from moving back and forth.
Upper agitator rotates freely in both clockwise and counter-clockwise directions with no resistance. Indicates the agitator dogs are stripped or missing and cannot engage the cam ratchet.
Repetitive clicking, ratcheting, or grinding sounds during the wash agitation cycle. Caused by partially worn agitator dogs slipping over the cam teeth instead of gripping them.
Laundry comes out still dirty, heavily wrinkled, or bunched at the bottom of the tub after a full wash cycle. Result of insufficient or absent agitation action due to failed cam and dog assembly.
Upper agitator wobbles, shakes, or vibrates abnormally during the wash cycle instead of making smooth back-and-forth strokes. Caused by degraded cam or bearing no longer centering the agitator properly.

💡 Pro Tip: Is Your Agitator the Problem?
Your part is likely the culprit if you notice any of the following:
⚠️ Upper agitator spins freely in both directions but does not agitate clothes
⚠️ Washer drum spins normally during spin cycle but will not agitate during wash
⚠️ Loud clicking, grinding, or ratcheting noises during the wash cycle
⚠️ Clothes come out poorly washed or bunched at the bottom of the tub
Quick field test: Grab the upper agitator and rotate it by hand. If it spins freely in both directions without resistance, the agitator dogs are worn out — this kit is your fix. If the entire agitator (top and bottom) won't move, also inspect the agitator drive block on the driveshaft.
