Samsung Gas Dryer Igniter Parts — Models & Compatibility

Your Samsung gas dryer clicks but won't heat? That's the igniter — it's designed to fail after a few thousand cycles. This DC47-00022A igniter is the exact replacement for over 50 Samsung and Kenmore-branded Samsung dryers, from compact models to the newer steam-equipped units.
Is This the Right Part for Your Model?
The model number is on a sticker inside the dryer door frame. Match your full model number (including the suffix after the slash) to the compatibility list below. Samsung changed igniter designs between series, so DV42H models use a different mounting bracket than DV45 models — even though they share the same igniter element.
About This Replacement Igniter
Samsung gas dryers use a hot-surface ignition system instead of a pilot light. When you start a cycle, the igniter glows orange-white for 30-45 seconds until it reaches about 2500°F, which opens the gas valve. After 3-5 years or roughly 3,000 cycles, the ceramic coating develops microfractures and the element can't reach ignition temperature anymore. You'll hear the igniter click, but the dryer never heats. This part includes the ceramic element and wire leads — no additional bracket or mounting hardware.
Compatible Samsung & Kenmore Models
This igniter works across multiple Samsung dryer series manufactured between 2010-2023. It's also compatible with Kenmore 796-series dryers built by Samsung.

Replacement Cross-References
This part supersedes several older Samsung part numbers. If you're replacing AP4211272, PS4205220, or 2068552, this is the current version. The mounting holes and electrical connector are identical — no wiring modifications needed.
What You'll Need for Installation
Samsung designed their gas dryers for rear panel access. You'll need a Phillips screwdriver and a 1/4" nut driver to remove the lower rear panel. The igniter sits directly below the burner assembly — disconnect the wire harness, remove two mounting screws, and reverse the process with the new part. Don't touch the ceramic element with bare hands; skin oils create hot spots that shorten igniter life.
