One burner has no spark while others work normally
Electrode produces occasional faint spark instead of clean snap
Visible crack or carbon tracking on the electrode body
💡 Confirm it's the electrode before you order
⚠️ Only one specific burner position has no spark — all others work fine
⚠️ You can see a hairline crack or carbon tracking on the porcelain insulator
⚠️ Burner lights when you hold a match to it but won't self-ignite
⚠️ Spark sound is absent at that burner even when the knob is fully turned
Before replacing: dry the electrode completely with a cloth and clean around the burner ports. Moisture is the #1 cause of temporary igniter failure — the electrode isn't necessarily bad, it's just wet. If it still won't spark after drying, the porcelain is cracked and it needs replacing.
