GE Refrigerator Water Inlet Valve Parts — Models & Compatibility

Your GE refrigerator's ice maker stopped working, or water won't dispense from the door. Nine times out of ten, it's the dual inlet water valve. This hub covers the WR57X10051 replacement valve that fits over 100 GE, Hotpoint, and Kenmore side-by-side and French door models from the GSS, PSS, TFX, and HSS series.
Is This the Right Part for Your Model?
Check your model number on the sticker inside the fresh food compartment, usually on the left wall near the top. This valve fits GE Profile side-by-sides (PSS26SGRBSS, PSS26MSRBSS), standard depth models (GSS25TSRCSS, GSS25IYNRHFS), and counter-depth French doors (ZISW42DSC). It also works with Hotpoint models starting with HSS and select Kenmore 363 series units. The valve comes with 1/4" compression inlet connections — if your current valve has push-to-connect fittings, you'll need to cut the retaining nuts off your existing water lines during installation.
About This Replacement Part
The WR57X10051 is a dual solenoid inlet valve that controls water flow to both the ice maker and door dispenser. When it fails, you'll typically see one of four symptoms: complete water leakage from the valve body, ice maker stops producing ice entirely, no water dispensing from the door, or ice won't drop from the dispenser even though the maker is producing cubes. The valve includes new quick-connect fittings — you'll depress the ring on each fitting to remove lines, and simply push tubes in to install. This direct OEM-equivalent part replaces AP3672839, WR57X10018, WR57X10012, and PS901314.
Compatible GE Model Series
This valve works across multiple GE refrigerator platforms. The GSS series (side-by-side models like GSS25TSRCSS and GSS20IEMBCC), Profile PSS series (PSS26SGRBSS), HSS Hotpoint models (HSS25GFPDWW, HSS25GFPEWW), TFX top-freezer models with through-door ice (TFX25JRYDWW, TFX22CRDAWW), and commercial-style ZISW models all use this same valve configuration. Select Kenmore 363 series units manufactured by GE also require this part.
Installation Quick Notes
You'll find the water valve at the back of the refrigerator, bottom left corner behind the access panel. The valve comes with updated quick-connect fittings that replace the older compression style. Cut off the plastic retaining nuts from your existing water lines — don't try to unscrew them. Push the lines straight into the new valve until they click. To disconnect later, press down on the colored ring around each tube while pulling the line out. Turn off your household water supply before starting, and have a towel ready because a small amount of water will drain from the lines.
