SEN01114 SEN01114 Furnace Flame Sensor Compatible with Trane & American Standard, Replaces SEN00491 SEN1114 PSE-T19 B340888-2 SEN0337 SEN0441

Your Trane or American Standard furnace fires up for a few seconds, then shuts down. The blower keeps running, but there's no heat. Nine times out of ten, you're looking at a dirty or failed flame sensor — one of the most common furnace repairs out there. This hub covers the SEN01114 flame sensor and the hundreds of Trane and American Standard furnace models it fits, from single-stage ADC units to high-efficiency TUDs.

Is This the Right Part for Your Model?

Your model number is stamped on a metal plate inside the furnace cabinet door — usually upper right corner. You're looking for model numbers starting with ADC, TUD, TUX, or similar prefixes. This sensor replaces OEM part numbers SEN00491, SEN1114, PSE-T19, B340888-2, SEN0337, and SEN0441, so if you've got any of those on your parts diagram, you're in the right place. Cross-reference your full model number against the compatibility list below to verify fit.

About This Replacement Flame Sensor

The flame sensor is a safety device that sits in the burner assembly and confirms there's actually a flame before allowing gas to keep flowing. It's basically a metal rod that completes an electrical circuit when heated by the flame. Over time — usually 3-5 years — carbon buildup from combustion creates an insulating layer on the sensor rod. The furnace control board can't detect the flame anymore, so it shuts everything down to prevent unburned gas from accumulating. Most techs will clean the sensor first (fine-grit sandpaper works), but if you're getting short-cycle shutdowns even after cleaning, the sensor's likely failed internally and needs replacement. The SEN01114 is a direct-fit replacement with the same mounting bracket and wire connector as the original Trane part.

Compatible Trane & American Standard Models

This flame sensor fits hundreds of furnace models across both brands. Below is a sample of confirmed compatible models — your specific unit may not be listed here, but if the model prefix matches and the OEM part number cross-references, it'll work.

Installation Overview

This is a 15-minute job if you've done it before. Turn off power at the breaker and shut the gas valve to the OFF position. Remove the furnace access panel, locate the flame sensor (metal rod sticking into the burner area, usually held by a single 1/4" hex screw), disconnect the wire connector, pull the old sensor, and reverse the process with the new one. Don't overtighten the mounting screw — the bracket's just thin stamped steel. Fire up the furnace and confirm it stays running past the initial 10-second safety window.

When to Replace vs. Clean

If your furnace is less than 5 years old and this is the first flame sensor issue, try cleaning it first. Pull the sensor, lightly sand the rod with 400-grit sandpaper until it's shiny, reinstall, and test. If the problem comes back within a few weeks, or if the furnace won't stay lit even with a clean sensor, replacement's your next step. Sensors don't fail catastrophically — they just stop conducting reliably, and cleaning only buys you time once internal corrosion starts.

Order Your Replacement Sensor

The SEN01114 ships ready to install with the correct mounting bracket and wire connector. At $18.99, it's a fraction of what a service call costs, and you'll have heat back in under 20 minutes. Verify your model number, order the part, and keep your furnace running through winter.
