Water Dispenser Pump Parts — Avalon, Primo, Brio & Midea Models

You press the lever and nothing happens. Or maybe you hear the pump humming but no water comes out. Water dispenser pumps handle thousands of cycles, and when they fail, you're left hauling water jugs to the sink. This hub covers compatible replacement pumps for Primo, Avalon, Brio, and Midea bottom-load water dispensers — models that use the same motor assembly design.
Is This the Right Part for Your Model?
The GMB-D-23130 pump replaces original part numbers DP005A2 and MO-12265. Check your model number on the rating label — it's usually on the back panel near the bottom, or inside the rear cabinet. Bottom-load dispensers from Primo (900130, FS3575), Midea (MO-9689, MO-9625, MO-6508, MO-10229), Brio, Kohree, and Manastin brands share this same pump design. If you've got a dispenser that lifts water from a bottom bottle, there's a good chance this pump fits.
About This Replacement Part
Water dispenser pumps are simple devices — a 12V DC motor drives an impeller that pushes water up through tubing to the hot and cold tanks. They typically last 2-4 years depending on usage, but hard water deposits, air locks, or running the pump dry can shorten that lifespan. The GMB-D-23130 is a direct-fit replacement that connects to the same wiring harness and mounts in the same bracket as your original pump. Most pumps fail suddenly rather than gradually — you'll hear the motor run but get no water flow, or the motor won't run at all. The pump assembly includes the motor, impeller housing, and inlet/outlet barbs. You'll reuse your existing tubing and electrical connector.

Installation Overview
Replacing a water dispenser pump takes about 20-30 minutes. You'll need to unplug the unit, remove the back panel, disconnect two water tubes and one electrical connector, unbolt the old pump, and reverse the process with the new one. The trickiest part is getting the tubing back on the barbs without kinks — warm the tube ends with hot water if they're stiff. Make sure to prime the pump by running water through it for 30 seconds before reconnecting everything. Air in the system is the most common post-install issue.
Why These Pumps Fail
Bottom-load dispensers work the pump harder than top-load models because they're lifting water 2-3 feet vertically. Running the dispenser with an empty bottle is the fastest way to kill a pump — the motor overheats without water cooling it. Mineral deposits from hard water can also jam the impeller or clog the inlet screen. If your dispenser has been making grinding noises or the water flow has gotten progressively weaker, the pump bearings are probably worn out. Once a dispenser pump starts failing, it rarely recovers — replacement is the only real fix.
