LG Refrigerator DC Motor Assembly Parts — Models & Compatibility

If your LG French door refrigerator's ice maker has stopped working or the auger motor isn't dispensing ice properly, you're likely dealing with a failed DC motor assembly. This critical component controls ice dispensing in dozens of LG and Kenmore Elite models from the LFXS and LSFXC series. The EAU63503709 motor assembly replaces earlier versions EAU62863005 and EAU65089706, fixing the same chronic failure point that's plagued these refrigerators since 2015.

Is This the Right Part for Your Model?

The EAU63503709 DC motor assembly fits over 40 LG and Kenmore refrigerator models. Your model number is stamped on a label inside the fresh food compartment — usually on the left or right wall near the top. Look for models starting with LFXS, LFXC, or LSFXC for LG units, or 795.7 prefix for Kenmore Elite versions. This motor specifically serves French door bottom-freezer configurations with ice dispensers in the left door.

About This Replacement Part

The DC motor assembly is the mechanical brain behind your ice dispenser. It drives the auger that crushes and pushes ice through the chute, and it controls the door flap mechanism. These motors typically fail after 5-7 years due to bearing wear or electrical winding breakdown. You'll know it's dead when you hear clicking sounds but no ice comes out, or when the dispenser is completely silent when activated. The replacement process involves removing the left refrigerator door, disconnecting the water line, and accessing the ice bucket housing — a job that takes about 45 minutes with basic hand tools.

Common Model Series Using This Motor

This motor assembly appears across multiple LG refrigerator generations. The LFXS series (like LFXS32736D and LFXS30796D) represents LG's mainstream French door lineup from 2014-2019. The LFXC series (LFXC24796D, LFXC24726S) covers counter-depth models from the same era. Kenmore Elite versions with 795.7 model numbers are rebadged LG units that use identical components. All these models share the same ice maker architecture, which is why one motor fits them all.

Why This Motor Fails

LG's ice dispenser motors run every single time you ask for ice — sometimes dozens of times per day in busy households. The constant start-stop cycles wear out the internal brushes and bearings. Cold temperatures in the freezer compartment make the plastic housing brittle over time, and moisture from the ice maker can corrode electrical connections. When these motors die, they don't gradually decline — they just stop working one morning, leaving you with a full ice bucket you can't access.
