The WB03K10034 knob is designed to fit a D-shaped (flat-sided) burner control valve shaft, which is standard on the GE, Hotpoint, and Americana gas range models listed in our compatibility chart. If your shaft is round or a different profile, this knob will not fit.

My knob broke off and part of the plastic shaft came with it — do I need anything else?

If the plastic inner socket of the knob broke along with a fragment of the metal D-shaft, you may need to replace the burner control valve in addition to the knob. The control valve (commonly referenced as PS235440) contains the metal shaft that the knob mounts onto. We recommend inspecting the remaining shaft on your range before ordering.
