Bosch Dishwasher Micro Pump Filter Parts — Models & Compatibility

The micro pump filter in your Bosch dishwasher does the unglamorous job of catching debris before it reaches the drain pump — think food particles, broken glass fragments, even the occasional toothpick. When it clogs or cracks, you'll notice standing water at the bottom of the tub after cycles or error codes pointing to drainage issues. This hub covers the 00645038 micro pump filter compatible with Bosch, Thermador, and Gaggenau dishwasher models.

Is This the Right Part for Your Model?

You'll find your model number on a label inside the dishwasher door frame — open the door and check the top edge or side. Bosch models typically start with SHE, SHX, or SHP followed by alphanumeric codes. This filter fits the SHE3AR, SHX3AR, SHX4AP, and SHX4AT series, among others. Cross-reference your full model number (including the suffix like /06 or /12) against the compatibility list below to confirm fitment.

About This Replacement Part

The 00645038 micro pump filter sits in the sump assembly at the base of your dishwasher, acting as the last line of defense before water enters the drain pump. It's a small cylindrical screen that catches debris too fine for the main filter basket. Over time, hard water deposits can calcify around the mesh, or accumulated gunk can block water flow entirely — both scenarios trigger drainage failures or leave you with a pool of murky water after the wash cycle. This part replaces Bosch part numbers 00651097 and cross-references to AP4339631 and PS8730270. It's a straightforward swap once you access the sump area, though you'll need to remove the lower spray arm and main filter assembly first.

What You'll Need for Installation

Replacing the micro pump filter requires basic access to the sump assembly. You'll need a Torx screwdriver to remove the filter housing screws, a shallow pan or towels to catch residual water, and about 20 minutes of time. The trickiest part is often dealing with stuck screws if the dishwasher's been in service for years — a penetrating lubricant helps. Make sure the power and water supply are off before you start pulling things apart.
