GE & Hotpoint Microwave Turntable Motor Coupler Parts — Models & Compatibility

If your GE or Hotpoint microwave turntable won't spin—or worse, makes a grinding noise every time you heat something—there's a good chance this small plastic coupler has cracked or stripped out. The WB06X10144 turntable motor coupler sits between the motor shaft and the glass tray, and when it fails, your food heats unevenly because it's not rotating. This hub covers which GE and Hotpoint over-the-range and countertop models use this exact coupler.
Is This the Right Part for Your Model?
Check your microwave's model number before ordering. For GE over-the-range models, you'll find the model tag inside the door frame or on the left interior wall. Countertop units usually have it on the back panel. This coupler fits dozens of JVM, JNM, and DVM series models from the mid-2000s through 2010s. If your model starts with JVM1540, JVM1850, JVM1860, JVM1870, JVM3660, JVM3670, JNM1731, JNM1851, DVM1850, or similar prefixes, you're likely in the right place.
About This Replacement Coupler
This is a direct replacement for GE part numbers AP2016754, PS227859, 769278, and the older WB6X10144 (without the zero). It's a small white plastic coupling piece with three prongs that grip the motor shaft and three slots that engage the turntable support. Over time, these prongs wear down or snap off—especially if something blocks the turntable or if you've been microwaving heavy casserole dishes for years. When it fails, the motor runs but nothing spins, or you hear clicking and grinding as broken plastic bits jam the mechanism. Replacing it takes about five minutes once you remove the glass tray and support ring—no tools required, just snap the old one off the motor shaft and press the new one on.
Compatible Model Series
This coupler works across multiple GE microwave series including JVM over-the-range models, JNM built-in units, and DVM combination convection microwaves. The part number remained consistent across several years of production, so whether you've got a 2008 JVM1850 or a 2012 JVM3670, the same coupler fits. Most common are the 1.5 to 1.9 cubic foot over-the-range models in white, black, stainless, and slate finishes.
What to Check Before Installing
Before you swap the coupler, spin the turntable support by hand with the tray removed. If it binds or feels gritty, clean the motor shaft and the roller guide thoroughly—stuck-on food residue can cause premature coupler wear. Also inspect the motor shaft itself for damage. If the metal shaft is bent or has stripped splines, a new coupler won't fix the problem. And while you've got everything apart, wipe down the waveguide cover (the mica sheet on the interior wall) since grease buildup there can cause arcing and unrelated failures down the line.
