Samsung Dishwasher Water Inlet Valve Parts — Models & Compatibility

Your Samsung dishwasher won't fill with water, or it's filling too slowly and leaving dishes dirty. Nine times out of ten, it's the water inlet valve — the electronic gatekeeper that controls water flow into your machine. This hub covers DD33-01002A valve compatibility across Samsung's DW80M series and other models that use this specific valve design.
Is This the Right Part for Your Model?
Check your dishwasher's model number before ordering. On Samsung dishwashers, you'll find it on the inside edge of the door when you open it, or on the left side panel of the unit. Match your complete model number (including the suffix after the slash) against our compatibility list below. The DD33-01002A replaces AP6240636, PS12085480, 4545999, and 33290430 — so if you've got one of those part numbers written down from a previous repair, this is your valve.
About This Replacement Part
The water inlet valve sits at the bottom of your dishwasher where the water supply line connects. When the control board signals for water, the valve opens and allows water to flow into the tub. These valves typically fail in one of two ways: they stick closed (no water enters), or the solenoid burns out and they won't open at all. You'll know it's bad when you hear the dishwasher try to run its cycle but no water comes in, or when it takes 15 minutes just to fill when it should take two. The DW80M series — Samsung's mid-to-high-end lineup from the late 2010s — uses this particular valve across multiple configurations including the WaterWall models.
Compatible Samsung Dishwasher Models
This valve fits the following Samsung dishwasher models. All DW80M9550, DW80M9960, and DW80M9990 series units use this same inlet valve regardless of finish code:
- DW80M9550UG/AA — WaterWall series
- DW80M9550UG/AA-00
- DW80M9990UM/AA — Chef Collection
- DW80M9990US/AA — Chef Collection
- DW80M9960UG/AA
- DW80M9960US/AA
- DW80M9550US/AA
- DW80M9550US/AA-00
- DW80M9550UG
- DW80M9550UGAA
- DW80M9550US
- DW80M9550USAA
Installation Overview
You'll need to pull the dishwasher out from under the counter to access the valve. Turn off the water supply at the shut-off valve under your sink, then disconnect the water line from the old valve. Remove the two mounting screws, disconnect the wire harness, and reverse the process with your new valve. The whole job takes about 30 minutes if you've got clear access to your shut-off valve and the dishwasher slides out easily.
Why Samsung Inlet Valves Fail
Hard water is the biggest enemy. Mineral deposits build up inside the valve body over time, preventing the solenoid plunger from moving freely. The valve might work intermittently at first — filling sometimes but not others — before it stops working completely. If you've got hard water and you're replacing this valve, consider installing an inline water filter to extend the life of the new part.
What's Included
You're getting the complete valve assembly with mounting bracket and wire terminals. The part comes ready to install — no additional hardware or adapters needed. Just make sure you've got the water supply turned off before you start, because once you disconnect that inlet line, water will come out if the valve is still open.
